Hayden Copass at State Meet

Westville-Georgetown Ridge Farm’s Hayden Copass drives Caleb Guise to the mat in their 285-pound semifinal match during the Class 2A State tournament at the State Farm Center in Champaign on Friday, Feb. 15, 2019.

Georgetown-Ridge Farm Junior and wrestler, Hayden Copass announced on Twitter on September 29, that he was "100% committing" to the University of Wisconsin to continue his wrestling career.

The Badgers were recently ranked the number 3 team nationally for the 2019-20 season in The Wrestling Insider News Magazine, behind only Big Ten compatriots, Iowa and Penn State. The Badgers finished 7th in the Big Ten tournament last season.

Copass was the Class 2A 285-pound state runner-up last season for the Westville & Georgetown-Ridge Farm co-op, being defeated by Champaign Centennial wrestler, and current University of Illinois freshman, Luke Luffman. He has also placed in several national wrestling tournaments, winning the 285 freestyle at the Cadet National Championships.

Copass selected the Badgers over The University of Illinois, Iowa State, Indiana and North Carolina among others.
