Thursday afternoon’s severe storm in Vermilion County has resulted in a flood water backup in the Emergency Department at OSF HealthCare Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville.

Patients have been taken to a different location in the hospital, and no patient care has been interrupted. However, OSF HealthCare Sacred Heart Medical Center is asking all Emergency Department patients to check in at the North Logan entrance until further notice.

"Water is receding and clean-up efforts have begun. Patients are not being transferred out and we do not anticipate that need." A spokesperson for the hospital said.

Hospital leadership will provide an update at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 20.

Patients should check in at the North Logan entrance.
