Local Photographer Carrie Mattsey’s love for catching the vibrant colors of nature is clearly evident in her photography. An exhibit open reception for her “Moments in Nature” photography collection will be held on June 30 from 1-4pm at the Kennekuk Environmental Education Center, Kennekuk County Park.  The photography collection will be on display until September, with appointments preferred.

Carrie Mattsey has been doing photography for almost two years now.  It started with a simple need to have better Instagram photos and once the addiction took root, she couldn’t stop.  As an avid camper and outdoor enthusiast her first passion has been nature and landscape photography.  Carrie has documented everything from birds and barns in Illinois to sunrises and sunsets in Shenandoah National Park.

She truly enjoys every minute she spends with a camera in her hand which is evident in her beautiful photography.

She has now extended her photography skills to include senior pictures, family photos and portraits as a way to fund her photography habit.  Carrie loves to show her photos and meet new people that share a love for the art of photography.
