Saturday Morning Summer Sounds & Farmers’ Market returns for their third season on May 11, 2019 at their new location: The Danville Public Library (319 N Vermilion Street, Danville, Illinois). Saturday Morning Summer Sounds & Farmer’s Market will take place every Saturday (from 9am-1pm) through October.
The 2019 market season starts on May 11th with a packed, fun-filled day of vendors and entertainment.
The featured musician for May 11th will be market favorite Dustin Danger; Dustin will be joined by some of his Rebelsfare Collective music students.
In addition, Red Mask Theatre will present three mini-performances from their child production of Rapunzel at 10am, 11am and noon; Papa Murphy’s will be giving free Mini Murphs to the first 25 children at the market; Designs by Bibi will be doing face painting for kids and adults; and tickets will be available for the May 11th performance of I Cancer-Vive (a fundraiser for Danville Restoring Our Community [D-ROC]) at the David S. Palmer Arena. And just in time for Mother’s Day, Prairie Greens will have potted plants and hanging baskets.
With the move from the Kresge Park downtown Danville to the Danville Public Library, the market is pleased to announce that their relationship with Cafe 13 will continue; Cafe 13 will be on hand this season with coffee and treats.
In addition, the market expects the return of their regular vendors this season along with new vendors selling: fresh produce, art work, children’s books, fiction books, lawn art, stained glass, crafts, dream catchers, baked goods, pies, flowers and plants.
New this season: the last weekend of every month will feature a family friendly open mic. All ages are welcome to perform on stage.
The Saturday Morning Summer Sounds & Farmers’ Market open mic will provide a friendly, supportive environment for all performers--from rookies to stage veterans.
Vendor spots are free and new vendors are welcome to join Saturday Morning Summer Sounds & Farmers’ Market.
Vendors must make, create or grow their own products, produce or art. No “direct sale” vendors will be allowed.
