Gregory’s Academy of the Arts will present the Family Classic A Christmas Carol at 7 pm, Thursday November 7, 7 pm Friday November 8, and 2 pm Saturday November 9 at the First Presbyterian Church in Danville Illinois.

This Holiday treat is adapted by Cora Wilson Greenwood based on the Classic by Charles Dickens. This familiar story of redemption recounts the adventures of old Scrooge at Christmas time. Scrooge is visited by four ghosts. The ghost of his deceased partner Jacob Marley, and the ghost of Christmas Past, Present, and Future.

 The performances continue to entertain with the sights and sounds of a Holiday time from the past. Audience members will recall their favorite scenes from the classic tale

while enjoying the sounds of traditional Christmas Carols sung in four part harmony by actors dressed in late 19th century costumes.

The Spirits of Christmas which provide narration and sing traditional Christmas Carols throughout the production include: Kelly M. Holden, Jodi Prosser Muller, Myanne Compton, Sarah Meece, Steven Henry, Craig Krakewitt and Mark H. Muller.

Gregory’s Academy of the Arts goal is to educate, entertain, and challenge those who enjoy the performing arts. Plans are being made for classes, workshops, and performances for 2020.
