The Danville Art League will feature ‘5th Grade Dreams’ in the Paul Brumaghim gallery during October.
This exhibit is a photographic documentation of Sunny Strader revisiting her fifth-grade classmates in their adult lives.
In 2002, these students were selected for a unique gifted program in Danville, Illinois.
Of the 17 classmates, six are parents, eight graduated from college, eight live in Danville, and one is married.
This work is an in-depth and intimate look at the millennial generation and its nuances.
Sunny Strader is a documentary artist based in Los Angeles.
Sunny was born in Danville. She worked as a newspaper photographer and as an assistant to filmmaker Lauren Greenfield before beginning her own art career.
An artist reception will be held October 12 from 5-7 p.m. Stop by to meet Sunny and discuss her unusual exhibit.
