Trailing 29-19 in the fourth quarter, Salt Fork pushed into high gear to help the Storm dump Westville 42-29 in the September 13 game.
In the first quarter, the Storm got on the scoreboard first. Around the seven minute mark, Quarterback Jacob Hughes drilled Garrett McFadden with a 69 yard TD toss to go
up 6-0.The Storm and the Tigers exchanged touchdowns in the second quarter. The Tiger’s Dalton Hilligoss darted 20 yards to score a touchdown, while the Storm’s Seth McClain scampered in 10 yards to score a touchdown to give the Salt Fork 12-6 advantage at halftime.
The Westville Tigers owned the third quarter. With the exception of a 69 yard TD toss from Hughes to McFadden around the 11 minute mark, the Tigers dominated the third quarter offensively. Around the eight minute mark, Brazas tossed Jeffrey Thompson a 26 touchdown pass, plus the Tigers converted a two point conversion pass to tighten the game. About two minutes later, the Tigers scored again on a 79 touchdown throw from Brazas to Hilligoss. Brazas hit Hilligoss again around the three minute mark with a five yard TD toss to put the Tigers up 29-19.
In the fourth quarter, the Storm’s quarterback, Jacob Hughes, scored three touchdowns. Hughes had 2-yard, 3-yard, and 10-yard TD runs to help the Storm drop the Tigers 42-29.
Garrett McFadden had a huge night for the Storm with six catches for 193 yards and two touchdowns, while Hilligoss led the Tigers with nine catches for 180 yards and two touchdowns.
The Storm improve to 3-0 overall, while the Tigers fall to 0-3.
