Georgetown Cemetery board propose changes to cemetery rules

The board of the Georgetown Cemetery District have proposed the following changes in cemetery rules beginning January 1, 2019. 

The board would like to hear from Cemetery District citizens about the proposed changes before a final vote will taken in the next few months.

The first proposed change will be, graves sold after January 1, 2019 will only be allowed the following:

One full burial per grave, or two cremated remains.

Graves purchased before January 1, 2019 will still have the following options:

One full burial per grave, or one full burial and one cremated remains (in small container- no cremation vaults) or two cremated remains.

The second proposed change is that:

All spring and summer decorations will only be allowed to be displayed using:

A shepherd’s hook, or vases attached to the grave stone, or base or a saddle on the grave stone.
