OIivet to begin hydrant flushing

The Olivet Public Water District will begin its hydrant-flushing program the week of Apr. 15-21.

This program is conducted biannually to improve Olivet’s water quality and fire flows.

Hydrants will be flushed between the hours of 8am-6pm.

This important procedure removes sediment in the mains and checks the operation of all hydrants.

Residents may experience temporary water loss or discolored water while hydrants are being flushed in their area.

Even though the water may be discolored, it is still safe for human consumption.

For any questions or concerns, please call the OPWD Office (Kristy) at 217-431-2503.
