Freezin' for a reason

On Mar. 31st Vibrant  Credit Union will host its first annual “Freezin’ For A Reason” fundraiser,  with   all proceeds going directly to Danville’s AMBUCS chapter.

“Every penny raised will go back into the Danville community through our local Danville AMBUCS chapter,” said Matt McCombs, CEO and President of Vibrant Credit Union.

“We’re hoping to raise a generous amount to help  AMBUCS in their mission of creating mobility and independence for people with disabilities.”

On Mar. 31st participants will plunge into Lake Mingo at Kennekuk despite the possible low temperatures. 

All plungers must raise a minimum of $50. If  plunging as a team, the team must raise at least $50 per person.

“It’s fun... you get to raise money for a good cause and you get to  do something that you wouldn’t normally do,” said Steve Ducey,  Vibrant’s Chief Experience Officer.

Doors will open at 9 a.m. and registration will begin at 9:30 a.m.  at the Hideaway in Kennekuk Cove County Park. Plungers will be driven down to the old beach at Lake Mingo beginning at 10:45 and the official plunge will being at 11 a.m.

Once all participants have plunged everyone will be escorted back to the Hideaway to warm up.

At that time there will be a complimentary lunch along with an awards  ceremony. Plungers will also receive a long sleeve t-shirt for participating.
