Danville Art League to feature Carol Garver

During September and October, the Paul Brumaghim gallery at the Danville Art League will feature their very own vice president Carol Garver.

Carol says her students used to ask her if she was an artist. She had to answer that she was a teacher, but one day her dream was to be able to call herself an artist.

After retiring, she began to take classes at the Art League in the old building on Sherman and to paint with a wonderful group of women. These women became her friends and she grew in skill under their encouragement.

Three years ago she started painting a series of watercolors based on her photographs from her two trips to Israel.

“Israel Through My Eyes” will be on exhibit in the Art League’s gallery.

An artist’s reception will be held September 16 from 2-5 p.m.

She invites her friends and former students to come to the Art League to see the exhibit and learn what the Art League offers.

Carol says, “It’s never too late to make a dream come true. I hope you enjoy the paintings”.

The Art League is located at 320 N. Franklin Street in Danville.
