Gregory’s Academy of the Arts holding auditions for 2019 shows

Gregory’s Academy of the Arts, Vermilion County’s Educational Performing Arts Organization will be casting the 2019 Comedy Hour and roles in future productions of A Christmas Carol.

The 2019 Comedy Hour will feature some of the comical characters from the famous Carol Burnett Show and A Christmas Carol adapted by Cora Wilson Greenwood is based on the Charles Dicken’s classic. The Production will be Directed by Gregory Duckett and the Music Direction will be by Kelly M. Holden.

The Auditions will be interview style and take place March 23 from 1-3 pm for the 2019 Comedy Hour and 1-5 pm for those interested in A Christmas Carol.

Actors interested may view copies of the scripts at the front desk of the Danville Public Library. Actors interested in the Caroler/Narrator roles should be prepared to sing Silent Night and God Rest ye Merry Gentlemen acapella. The Academy’s goals are to educate, entertain, and challenge those who enjoy the Performing Arts through both education and experience. Some of this year’s memorable comedy skits from the Carol Burnett Show include: The Football Widow (Directed by Theresa Tyner),

The Old Folks and The Rolls Royce(Directed by Gregory Duckett). There are roles for 4 men and 5 women. The 2019 Comedy Hour will tour the area the last three weeks of June.

Performances are scheduled at Autumn Fields in Hoopeston, the Danville Public Library, Colonial Manor Nursing Home, Arts in the Park, North Logan Health Care Center, Bowman Estates, and the Garden View Manor.
