Paris Order of the Eastern Star donates books to local schools

The Paris Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and the Illinois Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star donated 104 books to Edgar County Schools this year. 

The schools that benefited from this were Shiloh Elementary, Chrisman High School, Crestwood, and Memorial School.

North Vermillion functional life skills class makes pillows

The North Vermillion High School Functional Life Skills class and students from Mr. Wagoner’s art class had the chance to give back to others by stuffing pillows. 

Trudy Longest visited on November 30 bringing heart shaped pillows to donate to Peyton Manning Hospital.

Vermillion County 4-H Junior Leaders donate to Toys for Tots

The Vermillion County 4-H Jr. Leaders voted to donate $200 to the Toys for Tots program after learning more about the scope and mission of the program from USMC Gunnery Sergeant Andrew Smith.

Vermillion County 4-H represented at Indiana 4-H Leadership Summit

Vermillion County 4-H as well as Vermillion County was well represented at the Indiana 4-H Leadership Summit held recently in Carmel, Indiana. 

The event provided the opportunity for teens and adult volunteers to participate in breakout sessions.

Juanita Wendt to receive award for 50th anniversary in KOPS organization

Mrs. Juanita Wendt joined the TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) IL 315 Danville Club on February 14, 1968.

Local TOPS chapters gather for hoedown

The 2018 TOPS Fall Rally Hoedown was held November 10.

The hoedown was held at the First Baptist Church Activity Center in Danville.

It was attended by 95 TOPS members from the following chapters.
