Danville Garden Club hosting meeting

The Danville Garden Club will be hosting a general meeting on January 22 at noon at the Danville Public Library.

The menu will include winter greens, cold cuts and icy cupcakes.

The program will be "Glam in the Garden" on how to reimagine and upcycle found objects to add interest to a garden. The presenters will be Rachel Pearcy & Kris Newell.

Hoopeston Jaycees host Joe Diffie and Walker McGuire at the 2019 National Sweetcorn Festival

The Hoopeston Jaycees are proud to announce: The country music superstar, Joe Diffie is coming to the National Sweetcorn Festival on August 30 in Hoopeston.

Joe Diffie has earned twelve Number 1 Country Hits including “Home,” “Pickup Man,” “Third Rock From the Sun” and “John Deere Green.”

Danville Art League announces upcoming events in January

The Danville Art League will be hosting many events in the month of the January.

Children’s winter class session will be held January through March.

Danville Library hosting Project Uplift resource fair

January 17: A Tween 3D Printer Class will be held at 4:30 p.m. in the Children’s Program Room. Registration is required; the class is limited to five participants. For tweens, ages eight-11.

War Museum hosting 20th anniversary celebration

The Vermilion County War Museum will celebrate their 20th year Anniversary with Dave Bennett and his Quartet.

The evening will include dinner, silent and live auctions along with Live Entertainment. 

Master gardeners encourage residents to make a resolution to get involved in gardening

Are you looking to volunteer more this year? Maybe you would like to be more active or spend more time outside? Consider joining the Master Gardener program in 2019.

Bunco at senior center

Beginning January 30, Georgetown area ladies will be able to play Bunco on the last Wednesday of each month at the Georgetown Senior Center, located at 102 W Church St.

A group of twenty-four ladies are currently utilizing the center for Bunco.

Play begins at 10 a.m.

CASA looking for volunteers

CASA of Vermilion and Edgar County is in need of volunteers to better serve the community.

By no fault of their own, hundreds of abused and neglected children in Vermilion and Edgar Counties are currently involved with the juvenile court and welfare system.

Horizon Health’s ‘Wear Red Luncheon’ highlights women’s heart health

Horizon Health welcomes the community to attend its sixth annual “Wear Red Luncheon” on February 1, at noon, at Café France in Paris.

All community women are invited to bring their sisters, daughters, coworkers, and friends to the event. Attendees are encouraged to wear red and join Horizon Health as it supports the fight against heart disease.

Catlin Historical Society hosting annual meeting

The Catlin Historical Society will be hosting their annual meeting on January 14 at 7 a.m. in the Catlin Village Community Room at 109 Sandusky St.

Everyone is welcome.

The topic of meeting will be buttons and button collecting.
