Robert & Linda Adolph celebrate 50th Anniversary

Robert and Linda Adolph of Catlin, IL celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on June 18th with a surprise dinner with their family at the Beef House Restaurant in Covington, IN. 

Robert Lee Adolph and Linda C. (Williams) were married on June 18, 1967 in Danville, IL at the Southside Nazarene Church. 


2017 Covington 5K post race

The eighth annual Covington 5K was held on Saturday, June 3rd on the Covington Circle Trail with over 240 runners and walkers, ages 5 through 78 representing eight states, registering for the event.  


Chrisman Shakespeare Club holds first meeting of year

It is time for a brand new year for Chrisman Shakespeare Club members. President Kay Fidler welcomed nine members to the June 8th meeting. 

The meeting was hosted at the home of Paula Bouton with Marilyn Fischer acting as co-hostess. The nine members enjoyed Buckeyes, mixed nuts, and homemade strawberry shortcake, along with refreshing beverages.


Miley Henry crowned Ultimate Grand Supreme Queen

Miley Henry, six year-old daughter of Kyle and Erica Henry of Westville, was recently crowned Ultimate Grand Supreme Queen at the America's Best Pageant in Danville, IL.

Henry was awarded the title Little Miss Westville and will be advancing on to the America Best Midwest Nationals Pageant on October 27- 29 in Springfield, IL, representing Westville.


Myers Dinner Theatre to present “Sisters of Swing”

Myers Dinner Theatre in Hillsboro, IN, is pleased to announce the next production of the 2017 season, Sisters of Swing, opened June 16th and will run through July 8th. 


Gregory's Academy to present 2017 Comedy Hour

Gregory’s Academy of the Arts presents the 2017 Comedy Hour. This Outreach project features many of the famous comedy skits from the Carol Burnett Show. The show will tour this summer around the area. 


Westville Council hears about new system for police

Changes are coming to the way Westville police will receive calls from the Vermilion County 911 system.

Police chief David Booe told trustees that the county’s 911 dispatch system is being converted to the Next Generation 911 system.
